Mutant Rising
I can tell you right now that I'm buying this when it comes out on DVD. Overall, the critics gave it a B+ and there were murmurings that it wasn't as good as the first two. Probably because the director of the first two, Bryan Singer, took his writers (I didn't realize directors had their own team of writers. *shrugs* Go figure.) hotfooted it over to do the new Superman movie.
Still, I think this new guy, Bret Ratner (Rush Hour)--well, new to the series anyway--did a bang-up job. Apparently, there's a cure for the mutant gene..and it happens to be another mutant. Professor X wants to give the mutants a choice, Magneto says there is no choice so it's mutants versus humans. What ensues is non stop action and some unexpected surprises. Some of the characters they brought in didn't get enough of a storyline (i.e. Kitty Pryde and Leech), Storm flies, and 3 major characters are tragically lost in a way that leaves you stunned. What's not to like?
If you get a chance, see this movie and then stay after the credits. There's a possibility that, well, maybe...
